CRITICAL: RALLY STEWARDS NEEDED
March 28, 2021
We are down to the wire in preparation for the rally trial. Below is the current steward sign up sheet. It has HUGE gaps in coverage! This tells me that you are really not that interested in future rally trials if you are not going to support the current trial. If we don't get adequate coverage, then we will drop hosting future rally trials.
As an incentive to club members for working at least 7 hours during the entire weekend, you will receive:
A $25 voucher toward one 6-week class training session valid until Dec 31, 2021
A voucher good for one future CFDTC trial entry valid until Dec 31, 2021
Doesn’t matter how the working time
is split up during the weekend! Time accrued only applies
to current event.
Please contact Judy Wagaman judywagaman@gmail.com (chief ring steward) to let her know when/where you want to volunteer.
A HUGE thank you to the committee heads: Kellie (trail secretary), Judy (chief ring steward), Wendy (trophy chairman). You have worked very hard to make this a successful event.
FRIDAY SET UP TIME ADJUSTMENT: We are meeting at 11am (not 10am) to set up. It will not take long if we work together.
Respectfully,
Roberta

NEWS FROM JAPAN: LIZ, MAX, CEDAR, SIDNEY
I hope this e-mail finds everyone well. I wanted to send out an e-mail with an update and pass on some good news. I am happy to report that Max is officially retired from the Army after 32 years of service. He arrived in Japan with the Sidney and Cedar on 20 Jan. They had 2 weeks in ROM. They were able to stay in our on-post quarters, but I could not interact with them. That was tough. We are still reintegrating and Max is figuring out what it is like to be a stay at home Dog Dad. It is great having the family together again. The other good news is that we just found out that been selected for promotion to Colonel. I am humbled and honored to have been selected. I know it is a tough cut. I am certainly happy the wait is over and with positive result.
Both pups are doing well and are settling into their new home. We live on base, so it is easy to get them out for a walk and down to the dog park. We are about the enter rainy season and I fear for the heat and humidity of the summer. I don't think Canadian dogs are meant for the oppressive heat here. We will just have to get them out early (before the sun), mental stimulation from training inside, and then they can lounge in the AC. There is a Japanese woman that is part of one of the Toller Facebook pages that we hope to link up with. She has a female Toller, just a bit younger than Cedar and 2 Goldens. Based on her posts, I believe she is also a trainer and has her own business. I know she does obedience and agility with her dogs.
How are things back in Fayetteville? Hopefully you have been able to get back to training and having Trials, even socially distanced.
I have attached some pictures of the pups. We are currently in the middle of cherry blossom (sakura) season, so we tried to take some photos in front of the beautiful trees.
We miss everyone. Would love to hear how everyone is doing and always welcome pictures. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
V/r,
Liz, Max, Sidney & Cedar
