JANUARY MEETING CANCELLED
GENERAL MEETING
SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 13
IS CANCELLED.
Out of an abundance of caution, due to rises in COVID-19 cases across country and specifically in Fayetteville and particularly Fort Brag, the BOD voted to cancel our first meeting of the year.
We are all disappointed that we won't be getting together as a group. So we would like to utilize this newsletter/blog as a virtual meeting.
Just like at a meeting, you have the ability to respond and ask questions!

Committee Needed
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE TO FORM
The Board of Directors discussed forming a Membership Committee to organize a Membership Drive and usher Prospective Members through the application and acceptance stages.
The Committee's functions may include:
- Development of Prospective Member Brochure
- Introducing outsiders to CFDTC
- Keeping track of each applicant's status (introducing them as guest at meeting, number of meetings, letting President / Secretary know when the vote will take place etc.).
- Tracking and overseeing all Member Work Benefits (Example: when Members work trials, they have in past received discounted classes. The committee would track work hours by Member to apply to classes).
- Organized
- Welcoming
- People-Persons
- Creative - lots of ideas
The vision is that the committee would consist of 2 Members and 1 Board Member to be determined.
Anyone interested should contact
President Ken Yager.

A NEW PUPPY FOR JEANNIE
Jeannie Roppoli brought home a new Shetland Sheepdog Puppy. His name is Peppino, but his friends call him Peppy.
Jeannie will be testing out his name when she starts him in Joan's Beginners Class in January.
Oh, the adventures they will share and the fun they will have. Congratulations Jeannie. Welcome to the Club Peppy!

MELMAN WINS 3-POINT MAJOR
Member Tracy West's Doberman Pincher won a 3-point Major out of the 9-12 month old puppy class at the Concord Shows on November 21, 2021.
Tracy deserves to be particularly proud since he is owner-handled AND she bred him out of her Championship bitch, Lexi. He is owned by Dr. Tracy West and Dr. Joe West.
Tracy also trains Melman (as well as littermate Bri) in Obedience, in hopes of putting titles in front AND behind their names - just like their Dam, Bri.

WYATT EARNS FIRST UTILITY LEG
Pam Silverman's German Shorthaired Pointer, Wyatt, earned his first Utility Leg out of the Utility A Classes at Durham Kennel Club in December. Pam writes: "This is my biggest accomplishment, as the Trial environment is really hard for my Wyatt."
This is a really big accomplishment for anyone, Pam. Utility is HARD. They don't call it "Futility" for nothing. . . most competitors never get that far. Best of luck - we're behind you 100% in getting those 2 final legs.
As if hat were not enough, Wyatt has been running Agility, and finished his OA this past Fall.
